Stateline is the half-mile of Highway 50 where Lake Tahoe’s South Shore crosses into Nevada. The casino resorts stand right on the line, Heavenly Village and its gondola are a short walk back into California, and Edgewood Tahoe’s lakefront fairways run down to the water on the north side of town. Stateline is the one place on Lake Tahoe where a ski resort, a casino district, a lakefront golf course, and a sandy public beach all sit within a couple of miles. Heavenly’s California Lodge and the Heavenly Village gondola are minutes away on the California side, and the Nevada-side Stagecoach and Boulder lodges are up Kingsbury Grade behind town. Harrah’s, Harveys, Bally’s, and the Golden Nugget bring concerts, dining, and gaming, and the Tahoe Blue Event Center hosts arena shows and games year-round. A Stateline rental also keeps you on the Nevada side of the line, with Kingsbury Grade as a fast route down to Carson Valley and Reno when the Highway 50 corridor backs up. Reno-Tahoe International Airport is about an hour and 15 minutes, Sacramento roughly two hours, and the San Francisco Bay Area three and a half to four hours. Zephyr Cove’s beach and the M.S. Dixie II are ten minutes north, and Emerald Bay is a 30-minute drive around the South Shore.
Most Stateline condos cluster around Kingsbury Grade and Tramway Drive, within a short shuttle or drive of Heavenly’s Nevada lifts, and several complexes add pools, hot tubs, and tennis courts. Single-family homes sit higher up the ridge with views across the lake to the West Shore peaks, or down in the pines closer to the highway and the beaches. Stateline sits on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe’s South Shore, directly across the state line from South Lake Tahoe, California. Highway 50 runs through town, Kingsbury Grade climbs east toward Carson Valley, and Zephyr Cove is a few miles north along the lake.
The Heavenly Village gondola is a short walk or a two-minute drive from the casino district, and the Nevada-side Stagecoach and Boulder lodges are five to ten minutes up Kingsbury Grade. Many Stateline condos sit within a short shuttle ride of the Nevada lifts.

Both share the same beaches, lifts, and restaurants. Stateline puts you closest to the casino resorts, Edgewood Tahoe, and Nevada Beach, while South Lake Tahoe spreads along the California shore toward Emerald Bay. Families usually choose by the home they like, since the two towns sit side by side.
July and August for beach and boating, mid-November through April for skiing at Heavenly, and September and early October for warm, quiet days and lower rates. Summer concerts at the outdoor arena and the Tahoe Blue Event Center fill weekends quickly, so book early for show dates.
Reno-Tahoe International Airport is about an hour and 15 minutes via Highway 50 or Kingsbury Grade and Highway 395. Sacramento is roughly two hours west, and the San Francisco Bay Area about three and a half to four hours. Carry chains in winter storms.
